Does your states inland fisheries and wildlife department stock your lakes and ponds with Splake?

I live up in Maine and we have that kind of fish stocked up here. Its kinda like a Frankenstein fish. I believe its a cross between a Salmon and a Lake Trout (Togue). My opinion of them is that the taste great but they don’t fight worth crap. Trolling for them it usually feels like a stick when your reeling in. Whats your thoughts and do they have those in your state?
What state are you in also if you have them?

It’s a cross between a speckled (brook) trout and a lake trout. It actually can occur in nature although that’s rare. Here in Ontario the MNR stocks them quite a bit. My buddy works at the local hatchery and he says they put them in the lakes where the brookies weren’t doing so well. They’re very hardy. Great eating. I found they fought really well through the ice but it must be the laker side of them that doesn’t fight well, because you sure can’t say that about brookies!
