Lake Mille Lacs fishing tips?

My friend and I are going on a fishing/gambling trip soon, and I was wondering if anyone had any fishing tips for this lake in Mille Lacs, MN. We’re going to be renting a 16 foot aluminum Fishing Boat so we can’t venture out too terribly far, we plan on staying within the bay area, but we might travel 5-10 miles outward too. Our launch point is on the farthest south eastern point of the lake. Where should we go, what should we use, and what pound test line should we have?

If it was me going out I would find a party boat on the lake going out on the same day. It would be a lot easier and these people already know where to catch fish. The price isn’t to high as there are several people on the boat. The biggest perk is that you will then have a much better idea on what to do the next time.
That being said. I would fish the structure around Doe Island for Walleye and fish the weed lines for Northern Pike. I would use Ten pound test for the Walleyes and at least twenty for the Pike as the fish here can get really big.
